Updates to JMS Comics - a fan webite

February 5, 2004
Just to make it official, this site is going on hold until 2005. If I see or someone sends me any cool news, I might update, but otherwise, the journey to financial freedom is still on-going and requires my attention. If you're really bored, you can read about it in my blog.

And, while I'm here, the first TPB (trade paper back) of Supreme Power is due out in March.

Someone emailed me asking if RS was ever going to be finished ... after a quick online search, I found this note dated Nov 2003 from JMS at The Abyss. It looks like JMS will turn over the scripts late Jan/early Feb, and then it up to however long Top Cow will take to publish it. So, good news in that the series will be finished this year.

Thanks to The Abyss for the link ... and yes, I'm getting very outdated.  ^_^;

I've gotten a few emails about the status of the Rising Stars comic and movie, and wanted to direct you guys to this article that sums up things well (JMS has referred others to it as well): Rise and Fall (about 1/3 down the page). Also, for current JMS news, you're best hope is the Worlds of JMS website - up-to-date info on all of JMS' project, as well as posting of JMS to Usenet - great resources. Thanks for stopping by!

Due to a change in priorities, I won't be doing anything with this site until sometime in 2004. I did want to mention that there is a 3-part comic series about Matthew Bright, and while it is not written by JMS, I do like the author (Fiona Avery), so I wanted to give it a plug here. Many thanks to everyone who has visited and emailed, and I'll see you again later. Take care.

Hi - me again. In order to help raise money to pay for bandwidth, I've created a Store with Amazon Associates where you can find JMS stuff. I've limited individual items to comic-related stuff, but there is a EVERYTHING JMS link there which will give you search results of anything with his name on it. Thanks for visiting, and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Hi there! Some news, and maybe an update later in the month (no promises, mega busy).

The final issue of Midnight Nation is available, which means they will hopefully be releasing a collection of all 12 issues soon.

JMS is going to do one more one-shot comic for Image/Top Cow and is then moving to Marvel. The one-shot is going to be called "Dream Police" - I have no idea when it's coming out.

Amazing Spider-man is released through issue 42. Funny, funny stuff, and in typical JMS fashion, there are hints of what's been and what's to come ("of course we don't know the plot, we're not into Season 4 yet!" - JMS/Babylon 5 fan)

Mini-informational update: The Rising Stars Trade Paperback #2 is out and available. Covers the second story arc from issues #9-#16. Also, there is an Amazing Spider-Man Trade Paperback that has issues #30-#35. It is a paperback, and uses the cover for #34. There is also a hardback book that has the JMS issues #30-#36 (which means it has the September 11th issues in it), and other Amazing Spider-Man stories by other authors, which has a different cover (sorry, don't have an image of it). So, lots of stuff to buy, right?

April 7, 2002
Updates for (alomst) everyone! Straczynski's Spider-Man has more covers, including #39 - the "Slinet Issue". And the Midnight Nation Station is nearing the end of it's run with updates through Case #10.

January 23, 2002
Joe's Delicate Creatures subsite is now up. It's small, and not that deep, but I like the graphics and you really should get a copy to read and enjoy for yourself. Especially since I'm not going to tell you what's really going on.   ^_^

January 18, 2002
Rising Stars #17 is out, and I just talked to my local comic shop and my copy of Delicate Creatures is waiting for me in my subscription box! Looks like Top Cow is getting back on track. Next up (hopefully) is the RS TPB#2.

January 2, 2002
Okay, the Midnight Nation Station is updated with Cases #8 and #9, and a Preview image for #12.

And (surprise!) the Rising Stars Resource Center is updated with synopsis and covers for #15 and #16, and previews of #17 and #18.

And (double big surprise!!!) there is actually content at the Straczynski's Spider-Man site - covers to all of the JMS-written issues.

I had some vacation time - can you tell?   ^_^

JMS has been busy with his new Rangers TV show on the Sci-Fi channel, and apparantly is also writing a TV show for Showtime called "Jerimiah". His comics are (hopefully) going to be coming out in the first quarter of 2002. Thanks to everyone who has emailed or sent me images - I appreciate you taking the time to do this. Happy New Year!

December 15, 2001
Just picked up my copy of Midnight Nation #9! There are ads in the latest Previews Magazine for the next Rising Stars and Midnight Nation issues, which means (hopefully) they will be out in about 2 months. If I get the vacation time I'm hoping to, I'll have time to update a bunch of stuff before the end of the year. Thanks to all who have continued to stop by, and Happy Holidays to everyone!

November 21, 2001
Looks like both the Rising Stars Trade Paperback #2 (issues 9-16) is delayed, as well as another delay for Delicate Creatures. I've heard Amazon.com was canceling those orders, although it sounds like you can re-order them again now (not sure why, but now you know. Thanks to Jeff for the info!). In order to tide you over, I found some sketches from Delicate Creatures and have put them up. Enjoy!

Also, the Amazing Spider-Man #36 is out now, and it's very impressive. It doesn't deal so much with Spider-Man himself as the reactions and the aftermath of the events of September 11th from both superheroes and mortal heroes alike. Very powerful.

Small update to the Midnight Nation Station.

October 17, 2001 -
Delicate Creatures has not appeared yet, and I'm not sure how long it will be delayed. This bit of news about the next Amazing Spider-Man issue:

Marvel Comics has announced that the contents of Amazing Spider-Man #36 (AUG011443, $2.25) will change. The issue will now contain a special, stand-alone story by series writer J. Michael Straczynski dealing with the effects of the September 11 terrorist attacks upon New York (the home base for many Marvel characters). Specific plot details were not available at press time.

September 12, 2001 -
I am fortunate enough not to have family or friends directly hurt in the attack on the United States yesterday morning. Best wishes to all of you and yours in this tragic time, and sincere thanks to all of the men and women participating in the rescue and recovery efforts. If you can, please give blood - it will be greatly needed in the days to come.

Small update to Midnight Nation Station. Busy with my real job, but hope to have more RSRC for you soon. And there's always Delicate Creatures which is due in stores this month. Or, if you like your JMS fix from the television, the next show in the Babylon 5 universe is set to air on the Sci-Fi channel this fall, called The LEgend of the Rangers.

July 27, 2001
Back from the learning experience that was my vacation with a mini-update to get the word out about JMS' latest comic: Delicate Creatures. It's hard cover, self-contained story due out in September. Stop by your local comic store and order your today. I'll be working on updates to the rest of the sites throughout this month. Thanks for your continued visits!

June 21, 2001
An update to say there will not be any updates until mid-August, as I am going on a really nice long vacation. FYI: the second Rising Stars trade paperback can now be ordered from your local comic store, and is due out in August. And for those of you with some cash, you can order the first TPB in a pretty leather bound volume (1500 made) for $89 ($149 gets you one of the 499 units signed by JMS & a Patriot head sketch by Livesay).

May 26, 2001
Text update for SAS main page, picked up a copy of Midnight Nation 1/2 and Midnight Nation #7, so those will be online in the next few weeks. Shamless plug for Project A-Kon and my anime fansite CardCaptor Sakura vs. Cardcaptors

RSRC updated with Issue #14

April 20, 2001
Started this update page! Why now? Because last week, there were 200 people that stopped by, and that seemed like a good enough reason at the time. Updated the SAS main page with first impressions of JMS' new comic venture.
